In 2023, The Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement (C2A3) successfully advocated for introduction of a marker bill entitled, “The Community College Agriculture Advancement Act” (H.R. 3425/S. 1740). This bill, which is currently being considered for inclusion into the Farm Bill, has support from 26 members of Congress and more than 250 colleges and state associations in 48 states. The intent of this bill is to provide $20 million for USDA to award capacity building grants for community college agriculture and natural resources programs, and for the creation of centers of agriculture advancement.
As part of this advocacy effort, we are soliciting information from the Colleges interested in this effort. What programming in the agriculture and natural resources space are you most interested in? In what ways could a center of agriculture advancement help your institution?
